Also, please keep in mind the program or department to which you are applying. Please be sure to request an application fee waiver at least one week prior to the application deadline to avoid challenges associated with your submission.

To be considered for a fee waiver, an applicant must meet at least one of the requirements listed below.   

Individual waivers are not granted to students simply based on identifying with a particular racial or ethnic group.   

If you do not meet these criteria, we encourage you to reach out directly to the program or department to which you are applying. Many programs and departments may have their own fee waiver processes or alternative support options available for applicants with financial needs.

Current Student – You are currently taking classes at Penn State
Former Student - You previously attended Penn State but are no longer an active student  Penn State Faculty or Staff – You work or worked for Penn State
Prospective Student – You’re exploring Penn State but haven’t started an application yet.
